Though I already owned a lovely pair of tall flat black boots, I was looking for something more suited to everyday wear--something not as shiny/polished looking, and with a quiet tread. These boots fit the bill in their matte texture and wonderful non-marking soles. They work well with skirts or jeans--I like that the shaft is narrow enough not to wobble around my calves when worn with tights or leggings, but also supple enough to accommodate jeans tucked into them. My only criticism is that they're slightly loose around the heels compared to my other pair of Merrell boots (the Tetra Launch)--though certainly nothing to deter me from my love of these fabulous boots.

I needed warm, comfortable, stylish boots for my mile-a-day walk as part of my commute. I had Ugg-style boots but due to their being loose around the ankles, they rubbed and caused pain and sore, tired feet every day. I've bought so many types and brands over the years. I got these last week and have worn them every day since. Even cuter than pictured, and SO COMFORTABLE. No breaking in needed. An awesome footbed. I can't believe I finally found the PERFECT pair of boots. I happily walk miles in these. Definitely the best footwear purchase I've ever made. I wish there were care instructions included, but I was able to get info from a local cobbler. Regular conditioning and waterproofing spray will protect from stains, water spots, salt, etc., and keep them softened and fresh looking (they did darken considerably from conditioner and waterproofer, but are still gorgeous). Merrell's one-year warranty is unrivaled. I'm converted and as long as these are sold, I'll buy them.

These are 100x's cuter than all the pictures I've seen online. Can wear them for so much. A little tricky to get on. I ordered a half size up too. If you have wider than usual calves these are probably not for you.
